"I see my work as part of a larger conversation about perception, transformation, and the emotional landscapes we all move through." — Donna Isham

Alchemy: The Sound of Color is a landmark immersive art exhibition uniting painting, original music composition, and projection-mapped light. Opening June 6, 2026 at Morton Contemporary in Philadelphia, this debut exhibition features large-scale contemporary paintings and three fully immersive installations by Los Angeles–based multidisciplinary artist Donna Isham and Emmy and Grammy Award–winning composer Mark Isham.

Each immersive work combines Donna Isham's original large-scale paintings with Mark Isham's cinematic compositions and living projected light — creating a multisensory environment where visual art unfolds over time. Viewers are invited to sit, listen, and experience color, sound, and motion as a unified, embodied whole.

Alongside the immersive installations, the exhibition presents a significant body of Donna Isham's paintings — emotionally direct, visually powerful works rooted in figuration and abstraction. Drawing on a lineage including Cecily Brown, Elaine de Kooning, and Gabriele Münter, her canvases engage themes of the body, psyche, and spiritual presence within the tradition of contemporary painting.

Works from this exhibition are available to collect. Donna Isham's paintings are held in private and corporate collections internationally and have been exhibited at Context Art Miami, Intersect Aspen, Felix Art Fair, and The Other Art Fair. Alchemy marks the Ishams' Philadelphia debut — a natural next chapter in a practice building national recognition across Los Angeles, Aspen, Miami, Palm Springs, and Nantucket.
